Animated GIFs of Saros Cycles!
These animations are based on individual eclipse maps culled from the Five Millennium Canon of Solar Eclipses (Espenak & Meeus, 2006). These have been extracted by Saros, and "stacked" into animated gifs that show the progression of the eclipses across the face of the planet for the duration of the saros cycle. The animated gifs were assembled by Dan McGlaun in February 2007.

Note that "slow" means there is a discernable space between each frame, as requested by several users; "fast" means I put no delay at all between frames, and it is easier to see the "flow" of the eclipse paths through the saros. |
